Help for music (alias: mus)

Willowdale plays ambient music through your client. In server mode the world picks the track as you travel. Where a place has music of its own, that is what plays. Everywhere else the catalog plays through in order, like a radio. In playlist mode you pick the music, and the world leaves your choice alone.

Nothing plays until sound is on. Type config sound on to turn it on.

The login music plays to the end when you enter the world, and your own track or the music of the place you are standing starts after it. Type music play to start a track straight away instead of waiting.

Usage:

  music                       - Show your settings
  music list                  - List every track
  music play <track>          - Play a track on its own, looping
  music stop                  - Stop the music
  music next                  - Skip to the next track on your playlist
  music add <track>           - Add a track to your playlist
  music remove <track>        - Take a track off your playlist
  music repeat on|off         - Start the playlist over when it ends
  music shuffle on|off        - Play the playlist in random order
  music volume <name> <0-100> - Set a volume
  music mode server|playlist  - Choose who picks the music

Tracks match on name, so music play whispers finds Whispers of the Harp. Subcommands take the shortest unique prefix, so music pl legend works.

Volumes:

  music       - The ambient track
  combat      - Hits and misses in a fight
  movement    - People coming and going
  environment - Reserved for weather and surroundings
  other       - Everything else

Changing the music volume while a track is playing takes effect on the spot. The rest apply to the next sound that plays.

Playlists:

A playlist plays in the order you added tracks to it. Adding a track switches you to playlist mode, and if nothing is playing yet the list starts right away. When one track ends your client asks for the next, so the list keeps going while you play. Repeat starts it over at the end. Shuffle picks the next track at random instead of in order, and never picks the one that just finished.

A track you start with music play that is not on your playlist loops on its own. The list only carries on from tracks that are on it.

Your track, playlist and volumes are saved with your character and come back when you log in.
